Mr. Chris Hermes

Mr. Chris Hermes was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He attended the Lawrence University of Wisconsin where he received his bachelor’s degree in music education from the Conservatory of Music. Chris first started teaching at Dell H. Robison Middle School in Las Vegas January, 1996. While teaching, he received his master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Administration and Supervision. Chris then became the Dean of Students at Brinley Middle School and later Bob Miller Middle School. In 2007-2008, Chris was appointed Assistant Principal at Liberty High School. In addition to his administrative duties, Chris has also coached hockey and girls basketball.

Kathleen J. Morse

Kathleen Morse was born in Painesville, OH and received her BA in Social Science/Elementary Education and her MA in Counseling from Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. She also received her M. Ed. in Administration from the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana.

Ms. Morse began her teaching career in 1976 in Browning, Montana. She was a teacher, counselor, Assistant Principal and Principal there for 12 years.  Browning is located on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in northern Montana – way up at the Canadian border and Glacier National Park.

She then traveled to Virginia from 1989-1992 where she worked as the Drug-Free Community Grant Administrator and Attendance Administrator in Front Royal, Virginia. She finally arrived with the Clark County School District in 1992.

Since being in Las Vegas, Ms. Morse has worked at Rancho High School as a counselor (1992-1996); at Las Vegas High School as a Dean and Assistant Principal (1996-99, 2001-02); an Assistant Principal at West Middle School (1999-2001); an Assistant Principal at Desert Pines High School (2002-05); an Assistant Principal at Eldorado High School (2005-2009); and an Assistant Principal at Desert Oasis High School (2009-2010).

Now she is at Liberty High School and intends to stay quite awhile! When she is not moving around the district, she loves to travel to Montana and Hawaii, and visiting family and friends when they attend the Indian National Finals Rodeo and the NFR in Las Vegas.

Ms. Karen Harris

Ms. Karen Harris was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, but grew up in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Karen was involved in band, basketball, volleyball, theater and choir. She was also a member of the high school student leadership program. Karen moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to attend Oral Roberts University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Education. As a student at Oral Roberts University, she traveled to India and Europe. She also was a member of the Student Council and worked in the missions department.  Karen taught in Oklahoma before moving to Las Vegas with her family. In Las Vegas, she taught English and English as a Second Language. Karen served the district as an ELL Specialist and was the region ELL Specialist for two years. She received her Master of Administration and was appointed to Liberty High School as Dean of Students. Karen is proud to be a part of Liberty Classical High School.

Mrs. Tarsha Hillmon

Mrs. Tarsha Hillmon was born in Manhattan, New York and raised in Brooklyn, New York. In 1990, after graduating from high school she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She earned a Bachelor Arts in History and started her teaching career at Western High School where she was a Social Studies teacher. While teaching at Western, in 2000 she earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, and in 2006 she earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration. In 2007, she took the leap into administration as a Dean of Students at Palo Verde High School. After eight years as a Warrior, and four years as a Panther, she is now a Patriot. Mrs. Hillmon is excited about being a part of the Liberty High School family.
