Foreign Languages at Liberty High School

Liberty High School offers the following foreign languages:

According to Dr. Geihs, Liberty High School Principal, "At the root of studying the classics is the teaching of Latin. Although thought to be a 'dead language' it is the root of most languages spoken in western civilization. Studying Latin provides the most fundamental knowledge of the roots of the English language and is a cornerstone in the study of law and medicine, among many of the professions. That along with the studying of the history of civilizations in our mandatory Classical Studies Program, especially the Greeks and Romans, gives our students a competitive edge in applying to America’s best colleges and universities."

According to Dr. Geihs, Liberty High School Principal, "As the world diversifies economically an holistic understanding of these languages will be of great benefit for Liberty High School students and give them a competitive edge, especially their learning Mandarin Chinese. China, at its current rate of economic growth, will surpass that of the United States and Western Europe combined by the year 2020. Even if a student graduated from Liberty and only worked on the Las Vegas strip, their knowledge of Mandarin Chinese would make them a true commodity and make them most competitive in most organizations."
